The Bucegi range is two hours from Bucharest. You can hike up or take a gondola in Busteni. Not far is the Royal 'Peles' Palace in Sinaia.

Some people paraglide into the valley. There 's expert Alpine climbing and at the top is a wide plateau where it's easy to walk trails and see shepherds.
